Vision of the Lay Pastors Ministry

By Byeong

The original vision of the Lay Pastors Ministry is to serve local churches by equipping laypeople for the ministry of pastoral care. This is why we call it the Lay Pastoral Care Ministry. Our purpose is not to replace the work of pastors but to strengthen the church by preparing ordinary believers to participate in caring for God’s people.

We are here for the churches.

For Laypeople

The Lay Pastors Ministry seeks to:

  • Equip believers for the ministry of pastoral care.
  • Re-equip and continually develop those already serving.
  • Help Christians grow into spiritual maturity.
  • Enable laypeople to discover and use their God-given gifts in caring for others.

For Pastors

The ministry helps pastors by:

  • Sharing the pastoral care burden with trained laypeople.
  • Extending the church’s caring ministry beyond what one pastor can accomplish alone.
  • Encouraging a biblical philosophy of shared ministry, where every believer has a role in caring for the Body of Christ.

For the Congregation

As the ministry develops, the congregation will:

  • Experience the benefits of a caring church where members minister to one another.
  • Recognize lay pastors as partners in ministry rather than spectators.
  • Become more motivated to participate in other ministries of the church.

For the Church

The Lay Pastors Ministry contributes to the health and growth of the church by:

  • Creating a culture of intentional care and discipleship.
  • Strengthening relationships within the body of Christ.
  • Increasing member involvement and ownership in ministry.
  • Promoting healthy and sustainable church growth as a natural result of a caring and mature congregation.

Our Vision in One Sentence

To help local churches equip and mobilize laypeople for the ministry of pastoral care, fostering spiritually mature believers, strengthening pastors, and building healthy, caring, and growing churches.
